“Whoever believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him.” — John 7:38
Having God’s Aorta, by Randall D. Kittle

“I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.” — Ezekiel 36:26

The Lord desires to give you His new heart — a brave heart filled with courage and anointed with His fire and holy unction. As I was praying about this, the Lord said,
“I am going to place right within My people My fire brand. I will place it in their hearts.” Then He said, “The question is, will they have the AORTA, because a heart without an aorta is worthless.”

There Must Be Outflow
The aorta is the major blood vessel which allows blood to flow out from the heart to the rest of the body. What is inside the heart cannot get to the rest of the body without an aorta. You must have one! If the aorta is ruptured or becomes blocked, the body dies almost immediately.

It is the same for the body of Christ. The Lord wants what He has placed within you to flow out. This is critically important. God is not blessing you just so you will have a great heart, but to bless the whole body. You can have the fire and the passion, but it has to get out, it has to go places to have an effect. God wants what He is placing within you to flow out to the entire body of Christ. He wants it to flow from your heart to the body of believers you are part of, and then He wants it to flow out to your city. God wants you to be a channel — not just a container!

What Is God's AORTA?
What is this AORTA God was speaking of, and how do we get it? While the Lord was saying,
“… will they have the AORTA … ,” I saw the word “AORTA” in big letters across my vision. Then the first letter “A” lit up and it was changed into the word “Authority.” We want the Lord’s fire, we want His unction and His anointing in our lives, but are we willing to submit to His authority and the authority of others He has placed over us? Without that you are not going to have the authority you will need to allow what God has placed inside you to work into the lives of others.

Next, I saw the letter “O” light up, and it became the word “Obedience.” Obedience is a four-letter-word to much of the Church, one of those words we don't like in the body of Christ. But to God, obedience is a beautiful and a wonderful and a lovely thing. Obedience is merely faith in action. We think of faith as a noun, “I have faith,” but faith is an active verb! If your faith does not have any action to it, then it is just fairytale faith. It is just wishing, and not really faith at all.

And then I saw the letter “R” light up, and it slowly changed into the word "Repentance." We need to be a repenting people who are ever in that place before God. The position of power in the Church is not standing on your soapbox getting something off your chest, nor is it standing with arm outstretched and accusing finger pointed, but down upon your knees in humbleness before God. The Bible tells us that God draws near the humble, and that He will hold nothing back from those who have a contrite heart. If we want the life-flow of God to flow out from us, a repentant heart is vitally important.

Then the letter "T" lit up, and I saw it become the word "Teachability." To have God's lifeblood flowing through your life, you have got to be teachable. If you want to teach, if you want to impart to others, you must be willing to receive instruction yourself. A wise, old minister once said, "Those who are unteachable by others, are also unusable by God."

Finally, the last letter "A" lit up, and it was transformed into the word "Accountability." God is not into "Lone-Ranger-Christianity." You need to be accountable. You need to have those who can speak into your life and whose lives you speak into. I don't care if you are Rick Joyner, Mike Bickle, or anyone else, you must have accountable relationships with others. Then, no matter what is happening, others can let you know when you are getting a little out of line by speaking words of correction. But accountability means a lot more than correction. It also means allowing others to share words of exhortation. This is so needful in the body of Christ. When you find yourself in one of those pity parties, others can encourage you saying, "Maybe you missed the mark, maybe your timing was a little off, but God's still got great things for you! The promises of God are still yes and amen!"
Are You Willing?

Are you willing to say, "Lord, I will have your AORTA. I am willing to say yes there is authority in my life, and I'm ready to submit to that authority"? Will you pray "Lord, I choose to be obedient. I am going to put the faith I have into action"? Will you determine to walk daily in the place of repentance? Will you choose humility, asking God to give you a contrite heart? Are you willing to say "Lord, I am going to be teachable and continue to learn and grow in the things of God"? Are you truly willing to be accountable to others — allowing yourself to be placed and planted in a body of believers? If so, then the Lord will make your life a channel of blessing for others. He will greatly pour His life and light and love through you into the lives of others.

Lord, I ask that You would speak Your yes and amen to our choosing to have Your AORTA. I ask that it would be a divine impartation and enable us to walk out that which You have already and will continue to place within us. Amen!
