Our family loves March Madness!  It’s the college basketball playoffs when any one of 68 teams has the opportunity to win it all.  This year we saw one of those moments.  University of Northern Iowa was winning by 12 points with only 35 seconds to go in the game.  Everyone was certain they would win when all of a sudden their opponent, Texas A & M, had record-setting scoring run and tied up the game.  After two overtimes, Texas A & M won the game!  You never know who is going to win the game until the buzzer goes off.

Maybe you’re in a situation right now that looks bleak.  You can’t imagine victory over your problem.  Don’t give up hope!  The disciples weren’t too hopeful when Jesus was beaten, bloodied, and forced to carry His own cross to Golgotha.  They were even more distressed as He hung on the cross between two criminals.  All hope seemed gone when Jesus died and was buried in a tomb.  But Praise God, when the two women went to the tomb on the third day after His death … it was empty.  Jesus had risen from the dead!

Never forget that our God is the God of victory … even if it seems beyond the possible.  As it says in 1 Corinthians 15:54-57,
“Death has been swallowed up in victory … thanks be to God!  He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”  Life is bound to throw us some curve balls from time to time, but we can choose how we respond to them.  Second Timothy 1:7 promises that, “God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”  Psalm 147:11 says, “The Lord delights in those who fear Him, who put their hope in His unfailing love.”   God is always for us.  We must make the choice to keep our hope in Him regardless of our circumstances, for He is more than able to bring about our victory!
