Being Apprehended, by Gini Kittle

My parent’s house was broken into last week while they were on vacation.  The thieves mostly took stuff that could quickly converted to cash.  I was sad when I thought of some person melting down my mom's jewelry for cash they won’t get anywhere near the amount of money that it’s worth in sentiment to my family.

As I was praying, asking the Lord to catch the robbers, I got the word “apprehend.”  “Yes, Lord,” I prayed, “apprehend those thugs!”  I felt the Lord say to me,
“Gini, pray that their hearts will be apprehended.”  When I prayed for their hearts to be apprehended, my thoughts quickly were flooded with several family members who were not walking with the Lord as they once were.  “Apprehend their hearts as well,” I also prayed, “Apprehend hearts to be fully obedient to You as they once were.”

That’s  a prayer all of us should want:
Dear Lord, apprehend my heart.  I want to be fully and completely obedient to You.  May what grieves Your heart grieve mine.  Forgive me of the times I have not cared most about what You do.  I love You.  In Jesus’ name, amen.
