My son recently lost his retainer case with his retainer in it while at his home-school workshops. Needless to say, I was upset with him for being careless. He was disappointed in himself, as well, because it was going to cost him $400 to replace it! I called the cleaning crew, but unfortunately they hadn’t seen it. Next, I called the teacher of the class where Ben thought it might have slid out of his backpack, but she had not found it when closing the classroom. My husband suggested we go over to the building and look for it ourselves, and so we did. Praise God, we found the case intact sitting in the lost and found box! I cannot express to you how thankful we all were! First of all, we were happy to have found what was lost. But as we thought about it, we began to be thankful that the one who had discovered it had taken the time and made the effort to put it in the lost and found box.

As I thought about it, I realized that each of us has the same opportunity in intercession. When we pray for our friends and relatives who are lost, it is as if we are putting them in the “lost and found box” keeping them safe until God, the One they truly belong to, comes and “finds” them! So be encouraged as you intercede for the lost, and think about the joy our Lord will have when He reclaims them from the “lost and found!”
