Look Up!, by Gini Kittle

As I was walking in our neighborhood park last week, I was amazed by the beauty of the fall trees in their full array of color against the gorgeous blue sky.  Sometimes it just takes my breath away when I see the canvas that God has painted in nature.

Unfortunately, being mindful of the little holes and pits in the ground, I had to look down at the ground to make certain I didn’t stumble. Looking down from time to time was necessary, but the reason I was in the park was what I saw when I looked up … the glory of God on display.

This is also true for our daily walk as Christians. There are some things in life which take up our time that are not exciting or God-inspiring. While they may be necessary, we must be careful not to let them distract us from what is truly important — seeing God and keeping our hearts fixed upon Him. We all need to remember the lesson from the park … LOOK UP! Let us lift our eyes to heavenly things. If we will, we may see God's glory revealed even in our everyday situations.
